The Timekeeper

The ability to speak for a designated time period is a valuable skill. Within the meeting the prepared speeches, table topic presentations and the evaluators' reports have time limits. The role of the Timekeeper is to monitor the duration of these presentations.

The Timekeeper also operates a countdown timing device that is used to monitor the duration of speeches. The device has lights that illuminate to prompt the presenter and inform him/her of the remaining time for the speech or evaluation. The device is affectionately known as the "Tyson Timer"; named after it's inventor and valued member of our club, Jim Tyson.

Prior to the commencement of the speeches the Timekeeper explains to the club the role of the Timekeeper and the operation of the "Tyson Timer."
