CLUB NEWS

NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT

July/August 2010

Welcome to Asheville Toastmasters!  We’re excited about starting another TM season with new officers.
Our club obtained “Distinguished Club” status this past year.  Our past President Kathy Robinson took our club to the next level.  We plan to continue to raise the bar this year by reaching our goal of “Select Distinguished” club.  We welcome you to join us and make it happen!
We encourage guests to attend our meetings.  You may come early and eat or eat during the meeting.  Denny’s menu offers something for everyone.
If you’ve been thinking about improving your communication skills to increase your chance of getting that position or promotion then Asheville Toastmasters is for YOU!  We have a diverse group of members - lawyers, physicians, nurses, consultants, human resource specialists, authors, mediators, service, retail, marketing and educators.
As Toastmasters, we are dedicated to improving our own speaking skills and would love to support you in your endeavors.
PLEASE come for a visit.
See you soon!

Melissa Gelineau
President

Asheville Toastmaster’s Club is having a great fall. Three new members were inducted on October 1st.  We had a very successful Humorous Speech and Evaluation Contest in September, then three members competed in the Area Humorous Speech and Evaluation contest on October 3rd. Ken Macfarlane and Kathy Robinson gave speeches and Keith Challenger won the Evaluation contest. Keith will move on to the Division Evaluation Contest.
